I'm Losing My Arrow Shirt!

OLIVER QUEEN: We're finished, Diggle... ruined.
DIGGLE: Why? What happened?

There's a hot new club at SDMM called
Riley's Rave and it's putting us out of business.

Barring a small miracle, Verdant will be forced
to close its doors. Thea's livid and vowing to
fight fire with fire.  Things are going to get
mighty interesting this Friday at midnight.

Join Thea Queen and the gang from Arrow...

this Friday night...

Sept. 9, at midnight,

at Star City's premier nightclub, Verdant,
for a cool crush you'll remember forever!

FINE PRINT: No one under the age of 40 will
be admitted unless accompanied by an adult.

  1. Ha!-- I love the title and the play on words! It's nice to see Diggle in this one. He and Oliver are my favorite characters. The suspense is building-- and I'm looking forward to dancing the night away at Thea's Rave-- and wondering which other Arrow characters will show up that night!

    1. Good morning, Kathryn!

Thanks for taking a peek at Arrow promo #2 as Friday night's main event, Thea's Rave, inches ever closer.

Yessum, John Diggle, the ex-soldier who became Oliver Queen's bodyguard at the start of the series, is a great character. Diggle has promised to attend Friday night's bash. (No, he won't be the burly bouncer at the door. :)

Thanks again, Kathryn. See you Friday at midnight!

  2. Ahhh...I will probably learn more about the show when I read your blog this Friday. Is this when you sing like a canary??. :)

    1. Hi, BB!

      Welcome back, dear friend!

As you probably suspect by now, I am using these brief promo posts as a way of introducing a few of the Arrow characters in advance of Friday's main event. Yessum, you will learn more about the show and how the various players are related after reading Friday's post. I trust you will be singing like a canary as you listen to the party play list. :)

Thanks again for coming, dear friend Birgit!

  3. Good Morning Shady. I, too, will probably learn more about this program on Friday nite. My interest is seething.

Air conditioner went out sometime yesterday afternoon. Got Scootie home before it happened, and the Air Conditioner folks are due here anytime (please hurry)!

Will see you soon, have a great day!

    1. Hi, Suzanne!

Oh no! I hope you're not in the middle of a triple digit hot spell over there! The recent hurricane knocked out power to thousands in Florida including our granddaughter who lives in Tallahassee. She needed to hunt for friends that weren't affected so that she could crash with them for a few days. Thankfully, power (and a/c) has now been restored to her unit.

I hope you get relief soon, dear friend Suzanne. Thanks for saying hello. I'm happy to know you are curious about Arrow.

      God bless!

  4. Clever idea with the promos, Shady. Looking forward to your party on Friday!

    1. Hi, Debbie the Doglady!

Thanks for for popping in, dear friend!

Yessum, I just wanted to make sure that pop lovers like you don't forget Friday's bash! :)

Enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend Debbie!

    1. Hi, Alex!

I'm just having a little fun this week, shaking things up a bit (and getting my revenge on the A to Z people :)

Enjoy the rest of your week, good buddy!

  6. OK, Shady, you got us all curious! Makes me want to watch the series, Arrow! Only thing, I'll have to find the time to fit it in with MY new series "Stranger Things" along with my regular shows, DWTS, the Voice, AGT and all the other shows associated with the bachelor!
I might miss the party but, I will join in the fun Saturday morning!

    1. Hi, Toni!

Thanks for coming by, dear friend!

Yessum, I am shamelessly promoting my first ever Arrowcast - LIVE - this Friday night at midnight eastern, 11-central, 9 Pacific.

Now you've got me wanting to watch Stranger Things. I love Winona Ryder and I enjoyed ET. The dancing, singing and dating competitions aren't my thang though.

Yessum, you are welcome to swing by Saturday because I guarantee the rave party will still be going strong. See you when you get here! :)

  7. Good lord, I don't know where to begin. I really do not know what is happening and I feel like a nitwit. What did I miss?

    1. Hi, Kathleen!

Welcome to Shady's live Elk cam! :)

You seem to be in the same boat with our mutual friend C. Lee McKenzie. She seemed lost when she commented on my previous post the other day. I will tell you what I told Lee. Friendship is the most important thing to me and it transcends post content. If you and I have the desire to build and maintain a genuine friendship, we will be just fine, even though we come from different worlds and have different tastes. I realize that you and Lee aren't likely to recognize most of the music, TV and movie references you will find here at SDMM. That's because the blog is written from the POV of a 16 year old male, but keep in mind that I am a fish out of water in your world of writers and authors. Regardless, if we do our best to take a sincere interest in each other's offerings we can make this work.

To bring you up to date, this is the second promo for my second Friday "all-nighter" rave party, a virtual Studio 54 experience. The first one, Riley's Rave, was hosted by the cast of the sci-fi TV series Sense8 which I highly recommend. The bash this Friday night will be hosted by the cast of another great TV show, one that Mrs. Shady and I are currently binge watching. It's called Arrow and it is based on characters in the DC Comics series Green Arrow.

If you are a night owl and think it would be fun to kick up your heels, blow off some steam and feel young again, then you are invited to join the fun this Friday night at midnight eastern time. If you can't make it that late at night you will still have six more days to join the fun before the post comes to an end.

Thank you very much for your visit, dear friend Kathleen!

  8. Very Clever.
See you Friday but..... but maybe I will be asleep and miss it all. I started to watch the Arrow but it went off the rails for me. I should give it another chance.
    When I have the time.

    cheers, parsnip and thehamish

    1. Hi, Gayle! Hi, thehamish!

How are you, my dear Arizona friends?

I'm happy to know you are at least familiar with the TV series Arrow. If you bailed out on it I hope you'll give it another chance. Maybe Friday night's rave hosted by Thea Queen will whet your appetite for more. I hope you can attend, seeing as how the festivities start at 9 pm Tuscon time. If not, I hope to see you sometime during the rave's six day run.

I hope your week is going well, dear friend Gayle. Thanks again for stopping by and please take good care of thehamish!

  9. Guess I'll have to check in here to find out what's up with Friday night and Arrow!

I'm using the password Canary a lot when I try to get into exclusive clubs. It seems to work. Thanks, Lee

    1. Hi, Lee (Cheryl)!

Thanks for swinging by again today, dear friend!

If you will be out there on the left coast Friday night, Thea's Rave begins at 9 o'clock Pacific time and runs for 7 full days! I'm gonna need a huge supply of finger food and party punch. :)

Yessum, CANARY is your ticket inside this exclusive "close friends only" bash. SWORDFISH will not get you through the door. :)

I hope to see you here, dear friend Lee. Thanks again for dropping by and enjoy the rest of your week!

  10. Guess I'll have to check in here to find out what's up with Friday night and Arrow!

I'm using the password Canary a lot when I try to get into exclusive clubs. It seems to work. Thanks, Lee

    1. You can say that again! :)

(I'm not deleting this second comment because there have been times when Blogger has accidentally deleted both.)

      Thanks again, dear friend Lee!

  11. I don't do clubs and I don't lose my arrow shirt ok I don't have an arrow shirt but if I did I wouldn't lose it just saying. Also when I think clubs I think golf I don't know why but I do.

    1. Hi, Joanne!

Thanks for coming, my dear Australian friend! I see it's late in the morning where you are. I hope your Thursday is going well.

Keep your shirt on, dearie! :) The suspense is building as the clock ticks down to what promises to be the event of the millennium - an updated version of The Midnight Special with a star studded cast of comic book superheroes on hand to introduce the dance tuneage. I hope you can attend Thea's Rave, Jo-Anne. I promise you. Friday night will never be the same again.

Until then have a splendid week, dear friend!

  12. When I saw your headline I was reminded of a corny gag my dad used to use in his juggling act when he was in his early years. Arrow shirts were one of the main brands back then. Do they still sell Arrow shirts. I haven't owned one in many many years.

    Tossing It Out

    1. Hi, Lee!

      Thanks for coming, good buddy!

Yessir, I couldn't resist that bit of word play. You might also recall the old joke asking what kind of shirt George Custer wore at the Battle of the Little Bighorn.

I haven't seen any print ads for Arrow shirts in a long time, but Wiki sez:

<< Today, the Arrow (officially stylized as ARROW) trademark is owned by PVH (The Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation) as part of its Heritage Brands division, along with Izod, Van Heusen, Warner’s, Olga, and Speedo (the latter in North America only). >>

You're invited to Thea's Rave, good buddy. It starts tonight at 9 pm California time!

  13. The Good: I'm over 40!
The Bad: I have no one to bring. :(
The Ugly: It seems I already missed it.

You talkin' to me?
