Ha-- you brought back the characters from one of our favorite shows! As you know-- I recently started watching P.O.I. reruns from the beginning of the series. It is even more enjoyable the second time around-- especially when Shaw and Root join forces with Finch and Reese. This is a great parody-- and a clever way to announce your new series. I know you are currently at work on three new series and I can't wait to see which one makes its debut at midnight tomorrow. I'll be up late-- and I am excited!!

    1. Hi, Kathryn!

Thanks for popping in. I knew you'd get a charge out of my latest parody of Person of Interest. I agree that POI really got into the groove when fearless fighters Shaw and Groves joined Finch's team.

Yessum, tomorrow night's the big night. For the first time in the history of SDMM, I am experimenting with a midnight post, one that targets night owls, people who love to party on a Friday night. Friday night was the biggest night of the week at the Shady Dell all those years ago. On Friday nights during the 50s and 60s, cars filled all three Dell parking lots and lined both sides of Starcross Road as far as the eye could see. Times have changed and so has the music, but the spirit of youth goes on an on, and I want to help keep it alive in all of us. Therefore I am inviting you and my reader friends to stay up way past their bedtime, tap into their youthful spirit and let it come out and play for a change.

Thank you for agreeing to party with me tomorrow night, dear Kathryn. See you then. Don't forget the password! :)

  2. hmmmmm...

Does she sing? Does she dance? Did she go to the Dell? Should I be a little scared? The suspense is killing me!!!!!
Oh, I'll be up at midnight tomorrow night!!!!

    1. Hi, Toni!

How are you this morning, dear friend? Thank you for taking a peek at this quickie post promoting tomorrow night's main event - my first ever midnight bash - the first of SIX!

She doesn't sing. She doesn't dance. She didn't go to the Dell. What's left? Find out tomorrow night at midnight Eastern time. Remember the password! :)

I hope to see you at the party, dear friend Toni. Until then have a great Thursday and Friday!

    1. Hi, Alex!

Thanks for coming, good buddy! I'm pleased to meet another human being on the face of the earth who is familiar with Person of Interest. :) Seems there aren't very many of us and now the excellent series is history.

AOK, good buddy. If you can set aside 5 minutes Saturday morning to join the festivities I predict the midnight party will still be going strong. I'll save you some punch. :)

Thanks again and have a great day, Alex!

    1. Hi, Holli!

Thanks for dropping in, dear friend!

Welcome to the promo post as I prepare to launch the first of three new series here on SDMM, the first being a midnight affair for immature adults only (people who are determined to keep thinking young all their lives). If you can't make it over at midnight tomorrow, you will still have six more days to swing by and party.

Until then take care of yourself and Todd and your dogs, dear friend Holli!

  5. Hi Shady!
I'm intrigued! Only watched the show twice but enjoyed them both immensely. For some reason I'm wondering as much about Where as I am about Who. Will there be Snow*Caps?
I'll have to set the alarm or see ya early Saturday!

    1. Hi, dear Diedre!

Thanks for coming by again this week, one of the very few times per year that I publish more than once. I wanted to hype my new midnight series and I'm happy to know I sparked your curiosity.

Will there be Snow Caps? You might be onto something with that question, because the mystery woman you will meet tomorrow night comes from a place that's cold as ice.

Thank you again for taking a peek at my promo, dear friend Diedre, and enjoy the rest of your day and week!

  6. I am sorry to say i have not watched this show but just found out the other day that my hubby has seen some episodes and likes it. I bet I will be in dreamland at that time so I will have to wait until Saturday. I hope you have a great time tomorrow eve

    1. Hi, dear Birgit!

Thank you for dropping in, dear friend! You say your hubby is secretly watching Person of Interest behind your back? :) I hope you will join him. It's a great series and many devoted fans are upset now that it has been canceled, including Mrs. Shady and me.

Tomorrow night's party begins at midnight Eastern time and continues for six days (or until the refreshments run out). I hope you can stop by before you head to Quebec.

Thanks again for joining me today, dear friend BB!

    1. Hi, Chris!

Blow it off! You have my permission, I'll even write you a note to take to your boss. :)

Don't worry, good buddy. The party post runs 6 full days so you have plenty of time to check it out.

Thanks for stopping by, Chris. I'll meet up with you tomorrow in the Time Machine and together with Scrappy we will travel back to the year 25 B.C.

      I'll B.C-ing you then!

  8. Person of Interest was a fascinating show and I'm sorry it got cancelled. Your new midnight series sounds intriguing! We're driving up north to see The Hollywood Vampires in concert tomorrow night and will be gone all weekend, but I will try and drop in. You really are shaking things up around here. I'm looking forward to the "new" Shady Dell Music & Memories". Cheers!

    1. Hi, Debbie the Doglady!

Thank you very much for coming down, dear friend! I'm happy to know you are familiar with P.O.I., a series with great potential that somehow didn't attract enough viewers to survive.

Yessum, I am making good on my vow to blog fearless and free. I am shaking things up, publishing at different times of the day and night, inserting an occasional promo to hype a series launch, and publishing content that pleases me, even if it offends a few people and prompts them to unsubscribe (as some have). Unlike most other bloggers, I want to keep my membership numbers low. All I want, all I really have time for at this stage of the game, are a handful of genuine, devoted, committed friends who will stick with me regardless of the content.

This midnight series was created with night owl friends like you in mind. It runs six days, so don't worry about it if you can't make it over this weekend. When you do get time to check it out, I recommend that you experience it at midnight or later and use headphones so that you can turn it up loud as intended w/o disturbing the neighbors. :)

I hope you enjoy the rock supergroup The Hollywood Vampires. I look forward to reading your review of the show.

Thanks again for dropping by, dear friend Debbie, and have a safe and happy weekend!

    2. Person of Interest was too intelligent for the "lowest common denominator", I'm sure. :P Looking forward to your new series! The concert should be a blast. It's time to get the hell outta town. Cheers!

    3. Drive safely, dear friend, and say hello to my old buddies Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp and Joe Perry. Tell them Shady sent you and they'll whisk you back stage after the show to party with them! :)

  9. Very intriguing Shady! GREAT teaser. In fact, this is a prime time worthy teaser...
Can't wait to see who will be your inaugural guest. I wonder if I'll even know her?
See you tomorrow at the bewitching hour...

    1. Hi, Michele!

Thank you very much for coming over, dear friend!

I'm delighted to know you appreciated my teaser. This is actually the third time that I have used the cast of Person of Interest to promote a special event on SDMM. If you aren't familiar with Person Of Interest, then I doubt you will know my mystery guest and her accomplices. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if none of the readers knows her, but she and her friends are worth getting to know and that's why I am introducing them at midnight tonight (11 pm Texas time). The post runs six days, through July 13, and I hope you can join me. (Be sure to say the password and to wear your dancin' shoes. :)

Thanks again for coming by, dear friend Michele. I wish you, your folks and your dogs a safe and happy weekend!

    1. Hi, Kathleen!

Welcome back, my new friend! I'm very happy that you returned for another dose of my unorthodox blogging style. :)

Forgive me for correcting you, but it was Finch (Michael Emerson), not Reese, who appeared in Lost, but thanks for reminding me about that. It's been a long time since I watched Lost and I forgot that Emerson was in 78 episodes of that series. As you might recall, Reese (Jim Caviezel) played Jesus in the film The Passion of the Christ.

If you're a night owl I invite you back here at midnight tonight for my first ever late night party post.

Thank you again for coming by, dear Kathleen, and enjoy your weekend!

    2. Aha! I got my characters mixed up! Thanks for the correction.

We must have been at PSU at the same time--I remember Franco well. He dated one of my friends. And Jack Ham, too.

    3. Heck yeah - Jack Ham! Well, Kathleen, it seems there's a good chance that you and I crossed paths on campus, attended some of the same parties or even took classes together. If we did I wish we could review the footage just for the fun of it. :)

Thanks again for keeping our friendship going and growing, Kathleen! :)
