Shocking Expose': The Family Plot to Rob Zombie! - Pt. 2 of My BOTB Fright Nite Double Feature Heavy Halloween

Welcome to

THE FAMILY PLOT TO

 ROB ZOMBIE!

(...not to be confused with Let's Rob Mick Jagger,
the TV sitcom renamed The Knights of Prosperity.)

It's the latest post in my series

Battle of the Banned

and Part 2 of

HEAVY HALLOWEEN...

not one...but TWO rock hard

Banned Battles in a row!

Listen to the two recordings made by the
two clearly marked competing artists
and vote for the one you like best.
Let the Banned Battle begin!

Ladies and gentlemen, I'm as shocked as you're
gonna be when I announce my latest findings.

As it turns out, Bob Cummings (above),
the movie actor of the 1930s and 40s
and television star of the 50s and 60s

...went on to become heavy metal shock rocker
Rob Zombie in the 80s and 90s!  Whodathunkit?

Ooooops...hold on a minute. I just checked again,
more carefully this time, and determined that
metal madman Rob Zombie's real name is
Robert Bartleh Cummings and actor Bob
Cummings actual name was Charles
Clarence Robert Orville Cummings.
Do you know what that means?
It means the two men are not...
repeat NOT the same person.

Nope! NOT the same. This is so embarrassing.
Please forgive my foolish blunder, folks.

 ROB ZOMBIE

Just like me, Rob Zombie was heavily influenced
in his youth by horror movies and fantasy comics.
Rob converted his passion for the macabre into
music, forming the band White Zombie in 1985.
In 1998, Rob went solo and released 5 studio
albums. "Feel So Numb" is a single released
from his second album, The Sinister Urge.

"Feel So Numb" - Rob Zombie (from album
 The Sinister Urge - November/December 2001,
highest chart pos. #10 Hot Mainstream Rock

Rob Zombie is not eligible.
Please do not vote for him...or else!

 BOTB CONTESTANT #1

 OCEANS RED

Oceans Red started out as Make Me Famous,
a 5-man Ukranian metal band.

The band is currently 4-man unit with members
from Ukraine, Belarus and Sweden. You'll tingle
as you listen to Oceans Red and their spot on
rendition of Rob Zombie's "Feel So Numb."

"Feel So Numb" - Oceans Red
 (Rob Zombie cover)

 ROB ZOMBIE

"Living Dead Girl" is an easy listening Zombie
toe-tapper released as a single from
his first album Hellbilly Deluxe.

The announcer voice-over intro was borrowed
from the 1971 Italian horror film Lady Frankenstein.

"Living Dead Girl" - Rob Zombie (from album
 Hellbilly Deluxe, February/March 1999,
highest chart pos. #7 Mainstream Rock

Once again, Rob Zombie is not eligible.
Please do not vote for him...or else!

 BOTB CONTESTANT #2

 ANDYFLANGE

Now here's UK rock vocalist Andrew Chape,
who goes by the name Andyflange on YouTube.

Listen as Andy breathes new life into Zombie's
"Living Dead Girl," Shady whispered gravely.

 "Living Dead Girl" - Andyflange
 (Rob Zombie cover)

Okay, you heard the two originals

by monster music meister Rob Zombie.

You also heard the covers by

 the two BOTB contestants.

 Which cover do you prefer?

 YOUR VOTING CHOICES ARE:

 OCEANS RED

 "Feel So Numb"

 AND

 ANDYFLANGE

 "Living Dead Girl."

VOTE NOW!

After voting here, please visit my partner in grime

and vote in his

Battle of the Banned!

Stay tuned for my follow-up post 7 days from now
in which I will cast my vote, count the ballots
(including hanging chad and dimpled chad)
and announce the winner.

Have a Shady day and a

HEAVY HALLOWEEN!

  1. Definitely not the same person. Bob Cummings is scarier.
I don't think Andyflange did enough with the song. Oceans Red added their own style and made it their own. I'm sure they won't be the popular choice (why does everyone hate growled lyrics?) but they get my vote today.
I didn't do covers today but went with two soundtrack songs.

    1. Hi, Banned Buddy! Sorry I gave you a scare with those images of Bob Cummings. :)

You asked << why does everyone hate growled lyrics? >>

Don't lump me in with haters of growled lyrics. In the past couple of years my ears have developed a taste for harsh vocals. I love bands that are seemingly on a mission to stamp out clean vocals in our lifetime! :)

I will enter your vote for Oceans Red, Alex, and once again I thank you for playing along on the latest round of BOTB.

      Heavy Halloween!

  2. OK. This is difficult. Definitely my kind of music—both songs and all the versions. You had me dancing across the room, Tom—with a bottle of beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other! Head-banging par excellence.

I guess if I must choose, I’ll pick the Ukranian band Oceans Red.

And by the way, you really had me fooled with the Bob Cummings reference. Amusing. And finally, if you’ve never caught an episode of “Let’s Rob Mick Jagger”, I highly recommend it. Hilarious premise for a TV show and equally hilarious in the execution.

    Great post!
    Your loving wife, Mrs Shady.

    1. Hello, dear Kathryn!

Welcome back to another exciting round of the Banned Battle. I am astonished to discover that you actually like the music I presented in this post. I have Ripley's Believe it Or Not on speed dial for special occasions like this. :)

Yessum, I noticed the ashes and suds all over my keyboard!

I read that the ABC series was originally named Let's Rob Jeff Goldblum. That lasted 5 minutes before the name was changed to Let's Rob Mick Jagger. The series was promoted by that name but it changed again at the last minute and became The Knights of Prosperity. As you know the cast of the short lived 2007 series included future breakout star Sofía Vergara, now famous as Gloria on Modern Family.

I'm delighted to know that you enjoyed the post, dear Kathryn. I will add your vote for Oceans Red to the tally. Thanks for playing and have a great week!

  3. Well, truthfully, I'm gonna have to go with ANDYFLANGE as the lesser of two evil contestants. Like dear Kathryn, this is not my kind of music. If we could get The Juggernaut on here (I may work on that), it would be right up his alley and he would have MUCH to say about it. He's a major music head and if that head is banging, even better.

We've got someone out at the office and I have to go fill in. I'm off! Sorry so short, but you're still my good buddy, eh?

    1. Hi, dear Cherdo! Thank you very much for coming over in the middle of your hectic schedule. I appreciate it!

You misread Mrs. Shady's comment. She told me that she actually loves all four of the recordings featured in this post. I was shocked because she is very hard to please. You need to understand that Mrs. S. loves edgy bands like Nine Inch Nails and she took an immediate liking to Rob Zombie and the Zombie wannabes in this battle.

If you think your son would like to participate and vote in the BOTB I would love to welcome him to SDMM. In the meantime I will enter your vote for Andyflange. (Andy fangs you for the vote. :)

Take care of yourself and Gonzo, dear friend Cherdo, and have a good week!

As ever, it's so much fun to read your energetic posts in the morning as they invigorate the mood for the entire day ahead!
I'm going with Oceans Red for both cover and tune, though I agree they growl ;-) However, I used to think the same thing about Louie Armstrong - ha!
How fun for Mrs. Shady to stop by! She had me going there for a minute, but after all, I am reading first thing in the morning!

If I am understanding your meaning, you seem to be under the impression that Mrs. Shady's comment is fake. I assure you that is not the case, Diedre. She sat right here at my computer, viewed the post, listened to the tunes and wrote those exact words. I even double checked with her to make sure she meant every word of it before she submitted the comment. You see, Mrs. S. does not care for my mellow oldies. She is a fan of 90s grunge and millennial rock and I was delighted to know that I finally pleased her with the music I posted.

I will mark you down for an Oceans Red vote, dear friend Diedre, and once again I thank you for making time for me today. Have an excellent week out west!

    2. Haha! Not at all, dear Shady! I was giggling about drinking beer at 4 in the morning:-)

    3. Hi again, dear Diedre! You're right. Mrs. Shady made up the part about dancing around with a beer and cigarette, but her comment was actually posted at 7:01 am because I have my blog set to Pacific time, not the Eastern time zone. I decided a few years ago to go by Pacific time because it helps me remember what time it is when western friends like you visit the blog. I don't want to be writing "good afternoon" to you when I should be writing "good morning." I am trying to keep SDMM as interactive and as much a real time experience as possible. :)

Thanks for checking back in with me, dear friend Diedre. I hope your week is off to a great start and I thank you again for your friendship and support! Enjoy what's left of your morning and the rest of your day and week, dear Diedre! :)

  5. Hmmmm, which do I like more? My neighbours arguing upstairs or the dog continually barking outside. Tough decision. Oh geez! where are my manners? I'm terribly sorry for the above comment. I should delete it and start over, but I won't. :D
Out of the two, I think I'll go with the first version, Oceans Red. I think they performed closed to Rob Zombie, so they get my vote for that reason alone.
Cripes! I am so rude. I hope you don't politely request I never return. I like your blog. I do apologize for any comment above if it offends me. Again, I should delete it and write a more PC comment. But again, I won't.

    1. Hi, Jeffrey! Thanks for coming, good buddy! Don't worry about offending me with your quips and don't worry about deleting your comment and writing a more polite one. You will have plenty of time to get back in my good graces in one of the dozen or more follow-up comments you typically write! :)

So I'm taking a wild stab at it and guessing that you do not particularly like Zombiesque music. You'd hum a different tune if Diana Krall was performing these songs, wouldn't you, good buddy?

Okay then, Jeffrey, by a process of elimination you picked Oceans Red as the recording that is less repugnant and I will add your vote to the running total. I invite you to check back one week from today, next Monday, to find out which of these toe-tappers won the battle. Until then have a fine week and a Heavy Halloween, good buddy Jeffrey!

    2. See? Maybe it's how you ask the question. "Which of these two songs would you most like to hear Diana Krall perform?" See? Something like that. Since I asked the question, I won't answer. It's your turn to reply. :D
Toe Tapper? Toe stubbed while walking in the dark on cold hard cement is more like it. Oh geez, there I go again. Please, please forgive me.

    3. All is forgiven, good buddy Jeffrey! Compared to Janie Junebug's angry rants, your remarks are highly complimentary! :) To answer your question I think I would love to hear Diana Krall purr in my ear, "Feel So Tingly."

Thanks again for exercising your right to vote, good buddy Jeffrey, even if it's the kind of exercise you loathe!

  6. Hi, Shady; This is another rip-roarin' battle and I love the humour in your posts! If Rob Zombie were Bob Cummings, he would have been old and creaky! ☺ I'm not overly familiar with his music, but enjoyed the selections you offered, nonetheless. As for the covers, my vote goes to Andyflange. His vocals are more pleasing to my ears than Oceans Red but both tracks were good.

    1. Hi, Debbie the Doglady! I am very pleased to see you, dear friend. The metal haters are coming out of the woodwork and I need rocker reinforcements from friends like you to help me combat this anti-Zombie apocalypse! :) I'm glad you enjoyed my (attempt at) humor, dear friend. Do you remember Bob Cummings' TV series Love That Bob and My Living Doll? May I assume that you never watched The Knights of Prosperity aka Let's Rob Mick Jagger? The star studded cast of that ill fated series included Donal Logue of Grounded For Life, Lenny Venito of The Neighbors and Sofia Vergara before she became a major star as Gloria in Modern Family. I hope you recognize at least some of those actors and TV sitcoms.

I will put you down as having voted for Andyflange and Andy fangs you for your vote. Please check back one week from today for the results. Until then have a great week, dear friend Debbie!

  7. Hi Shady,
It was a close race for me but, I think "feel so numb" by Ocean Red won by I hair. I do like my metal. I was not only head bangin but, my hair was swirling round in circles. I think it was the guitar riffs and pounding sound. Bring on the Metal Shady, love it as long as they aren't grrrrowling at me!(death growls), LOL!

That's amazing considering you are wearing it in a Mohawk style! :) A couple of readers have testified that Oceans Red DOES growl the lyrics. Nevertheless, you like them more than Andy so I will record your vote for Oceans Red and I thank you once again for participating in the contest.

Do you remember Bob Cummings on TV or are you too young? He was a big part of my childhood. I watched The Bob Cummings Show aka Love That Bob when it ran in the mid to late 50s and again in its second incarnation in the early 60s. I also watched his mid 60s series with Julie Newmar, My Living Doll.

Thanks again, dear friend Toni, and have a wonderful week ahead!

  9. Hey Shady. Spooky BOTB you have here! By a long shot, I like Andyflange's Living Dead Girl better. It's got a beat that makes me tap the toe and nod my head. The other one, not so much. It was a little too hard for my taste. So give my vote to Andyflange!
BTW, I got a call from my vet and Luca was in the recovery room. He came through his dental just fine. Whew! Always scary. So I'm very grateful: my angels came through again!

    3. Hi, dear Michele! How's Luca doing? Thanks for swinging back over for another chat. This is actually why the number of comments is rather high lately on SDMM. I don't have as many friends and followers as some bloggers, but some of the ones I currently do have enjoy dropping in several times during the week. They use the blog as an email inbox and discuss anything and everything with me. I like that. I have always compared SDMM to Outback Steakhouse - "No rules - Just right!"

I told Mrs. Shady about your jewelry store and reminded her that Xmas is coming and it's time to shop for the women in our family. I'm coming over to A.B. for a look at your latest post shortly.

    4. I like your blog's motto: " No rules...Just right." That rocks!
Hey, thanks for asking about Luca: he's doing great. Bouncing around the yard and eating good so all is well.
Thanks for telling Mrs. Shady about my store! I appreciate any promotion. It's tough getting noticed on the Internet. A lot harder than I thought. I'm now Instagramming as I hear this is the new best way to market your wares. I've had a few sales from Facebook and am running a paid ad campaign there now so we'll see how that goes. I used to do shows but they are sooooooo much work and sometimes you don't make any real money after sitting there all weekend and paying your booth fees, and then all the unpacking and table setup then packing up again and lugging all this shit back and forth...it just got to be frustrating. So I decided to try an online store and instead of paying booth fees, I'm going to put that money in search engine optimization, Google Adwords, Bing and Yahoo campaigns. See how that pans out. It's still a lot of work, just not so physical.
      So anyway, THANKS!!!

You're a good friend Shady! A damn good friend. :)

    5. Takes one to know one, Michele! :)

I agree that in this day and age there is no need for a physical store or kiosk to market products such as yours. I wish you great success with your venture and will do my part to spread the word around.

  11. Hooo boy. I'm voting for Andy Flange. Here's why.

I spent centuries listening to growly metal.. okay it was decades. Fine! It was the better part of one solitary decade but my son is very much into metal and like a good mom, I indulged him by listening to what he loved. For centuries! Anyway, my wonderful boy and I no longer live under the same roof so I no longer subject myself to the the growls. I don't hate all metal.. he listened to some pretty decent Scandinavian folk metal more often than not. But Rob Zombie and those of his ilk.. not gonna happen voluntarily. The Andy Flange recording is the shorter of the two. So that's the one that gets my vote. ;)

BUT.. you are always a fun read, Shady. I am indeed entertained.

I don't expect everyone to like all of the music that I present on the blog, but I do appreciate those of you who remember to respect the host and respect the tastes of readers who do like hard rock and metal. The important thing is that you enjoyed your time spent here and that you were entertained. I will record your vote for Andyflange and Andy fangs you for it. :)

While I'm listening to the contestants, let me tip you to a new act I got on my Spotify (Warning: Sharp genre change). Dude's name is Leon Bridges, song is Coming Home, sounds like late sixties Motown but came out June this year!

As for the vote, I'll admit Zombie style metal is more your wheelhouse than mine, but I think Oceans Red did a better job with a better song.

    1. Hi, dear Linda! Thank you for joining the spooky BOTB party, dear friend! I loved Bobby "Boris" Pickett's hit novelty record "The Monster Mash," #1 on the chart at Halloween 1962. As you can tell by this post, scary music has come a long way since then. Many of today's artists go out of their way to shock and even offend polite society.

I will add your vote for Oceans Red to the tally, Linda, and I very much appreciate your participation in the battle. Have a wonderful week, dear friend!

  16. You know my dislike of any rocker who has better hair than I do. Flaunting and flipping his hair around while singing, screaming or puking.
And not wanting to stick my finger with a pin so I could fick some blood at the computer to pick the winner. . .
I pick no hair Andy !

    1. Hi, Jessica Marie! Thank you for making time for a visit this evening, dear friend. It's nice to meet another soul who likes Rob Zombie. There aren't very many of us. In fact there's an anti-Zombie apocalypse unfolding here at SDMM and it's downright scary! :)

Okay then, I will add another vote for Oceans Red on your behalf and I thank you for listening and voting. I hope you will be able to return sometime next week when I have the battle outcome posted. Thanks again, JM, and have a good night!

    2. Hi Shady,

Yes, Rob Zombie fans are few and far between. :) I've been a fan since I was 13. He was always fun to listen to - even Marilyn Manson. Ah, good times. :)

I will be back next week! Have a great week ahead, dear friend Shady!

    5. That would be a great show, I'm sure. I wrote "his/their" because many people forget the name of his band is also Marilyn Manson, just as Alice Cooper's band was also called Alice Cooper.

    1. Hi, dear Birgit! Thank you very much for coming down, dear friend! I'm sure that a film and TV buff like you remembers, knows and loves Bob Cummings, correct? Throughout my youth Bob was one of my favorite actors. I appreciated his comic timing.

I am delighted to know that you feel warm, cuddly and uplifted by these easy listening Halloween ditties. Confusion seems to follow you here my wonderful friend. I assume that you meant to vote for "Living Dead Girl" and if that is the case I will add another vote for the Andyflange cover in your name. Andy fangs you for your vote, dear friend BB, and I fang you for making time to visit and vote again this week. The winner of this BOTB will be declared next Monday and I hope to see you then. Have a wonderful week, Birgit!

  19. This is difficult. Can I vote for Night of the Living Dead? You have photo stills from the pic so I should be able to, right?

I almost disliked both equally and Rob Zombie I don't like at all.

I guess Andyflange was easier on my ears and the other one had a nearly two minute commercial preceding it--I've never seen a commercial that long on a video. Hope that lengthy ad thing doesn't become the norm on these YouTube videos.

Anyway, I disliked Oceans Red the most so give my reluctant vote to Andyflange.

I think I prefer your oldies 60's song picks.

    1. Hi, Lee! Thank you very much for coming over, good buddy! I find it interesting that Alex J. Cavanaugh featured the very same recording "Living Dead Girl" by Rob Zombie, on his blog in the previous banned battle. I didn't notice any of his readers blasting him for the choice he made.

Here's the thing. Lee. I am blessed/cured with a diverse readership. Friends who regularly visit and comment on SDMM range in age from 18 to 70. Some of them like pop. Others like the hard stuff. With this post I was finally able to please Mrs. Shady who can't stand my moldy oldies. She is a modern rocker and loves Zombie and these cover artists. The pendulum will soon swing back the other way and I will once again be posting 60s material and drawing complaints from her and younger readers who don't like it and don't get it. I can't please everybody all the time so I need to please myself first and realize that true friends like you will stick with me even when they don't like the music I present. I'm sure you are in the same boat when you post those esoteric recordings in your band battles. I love it all - world music, folk, easy listening oldies and even extreme metal and hardcore gangsta rap. Several times a year I reserve the right to rock and Halloween is one of them.

Hey, I knew you'd appreciate my nod to Night of the Living Dead. I'm glad you and I agree on that at least. If you haven't seen the other two films in the original G.A. Romero zombie trilogy, Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead, I encourage you to watch them.

SDMM has a very narrow column and the YouTube videos are cropped. I'm thinking you might have missed the tab on the far right that allows you to click to SKIP AD after 5 seconds. To avoid that happening again you can click to watch the vid full size on YouTube and click back to SDMM when finished. I never needed to sit through a two minute commercial before playing a video. A 30 second spot is annoying enough and they do have ads of that length embedded with no way to skip them. Thank you for taking time to listen to the ad and the two competing songs before voting. I appreciate it.

I will add another vote for Andyflange and Andy fangs you for your vote, Lee. I also thank you for being a loyal friend. The BOTB winner will be crowned next Monday and I hope to see you back here then. Have a great week, Lee!

    2. Ah yes, the stop commercial tab. But if I can't see that then I can't click the change to full screen tab either unless there is another way to do it other than going directly to YouTube to find the video.

When you embed the video to your post do you scale down the video to a smaller size to fit your column in full? When I'm embedding the videos I notice that a good many of them default to 520 (whatever 520 is) and if I change that down to 420 instead then the video box fit nicely on my page. Maybe you know this already, but I thought it might be worth mentioning.

Not only have I seen all of the Living Dead trilogy I've also seen the remakes which are still good but perhaps an excess of FX. The original black and white is still the best in my opinion. That B&W somewhere conveys a greater sense of eeriness for me. But I do have a fondness for the satirical commentary presented by the Dawn version and how that film depicts the shopping mall culture.

    3. Right you are, Lee! I love black and white films and find it frustrating when members of the younger generation categorically dismiss B&W movies and TV shows as "boring" and refuse to watch them. In the original Night of the Living Dead, the grainy black and white picture added to the shocking realism and greatly enhanced the credibility of the TV news broadcasts and interviews conducted by reporters in the field as the news media covered the unfolding zombie epidemic. As you know, I lived in York in 1968 when Living Dead was released. Can you imagine how unsettling it was to see the names of public buildings in nearby communities superimposed on the screen during those news broadcasts, listing places to seek shelter from the flesh eating ghouls? Many years and remakes later, the original Romero trilogy is still the best.

I never had an instance in which I couldn't see the stop commercial tab at the edge of my column, but I will try to remember to take your advice and shrink the videos to fit from now on. Thanks for the tip!

Have a great day and week, good buddy Lee!

  26. Wow! I hope I'm not too late to the Shady Halloween fun bash! I love this holiday and this week has been so chocked full of nuts that I have found myself behind in commenting and blogging. You have a fun assortment to pick from. Back in the early 90's we had a child from Belarus stay with us for the summer. He was a child from Cherynobl who came to the US for fresh air, food and health care. He was only 9 but what a sweetie. What does that have to do with the price of Halloween candy? Well, maybe, just maybe, he's one of the singers in the Oceans Red. Well, it could happen! But that won't really influence my vote since I'm going for Andy Flange. Why? Because I love Halloween and I could picture walking through a haunted house with this music playing the whole way. I hope you have a wonderful Halloween weekend and I'm going to continue to dust all the skeletons in my closet before putting them up for a season....take care and thanks for the fun contest!

    1. Hello, howdy and Heavy Halloween to you, dear friend YaYa! There are still three more days to go until the polls close, but I must admit that I am very happy and relieved to see you tonight. I realize I run the risk of turning people off when I present more intense music and I am very pleased to know that you were not offended by these tunes. Instead, you got into the spirit and recognized that these bands are just a bunch of guys shouting "boo" the same as millions of kids love to do every Halloween. Rob Zombie grew up influenced by horror movies and so did I. My older brother started taking me to see them when I was only three. No wonder I am fond of zombies, spooky tales and "horror metal" recordings.

How generous it was of you and Jack to welcome a refugee child from Chernobyl into your home. I will never forget the Japanese exchange student who lived with me and my folks for a few weeks around the time of the John F. Kennedy assassination. In fact, I still correspond with her every year at Christmas!

I will add your vote for Andyflange to the ballot box and Andy fangs you for your support. I also thank you for being such a good sport and finding something positive to say about this post and this music. You're the best!

I will be declaring the BOTB winner this coming monday so stay tuned. In the meantime, Heavy Halloween to you, Jack, Eddy and all your grandkiddos and God bless you, dear friend YaYa!

Andy Flange gets my vote, if for no other reason than the song wasn't accompanied by videos that my terminally religious next door neighbors would think were lifted right out of a modern-day Sodom & Gomorrah. Bob commented that Rob Zombie looks and sounds like he's starting a new series called "Jesus -Breaking Bad". Truthfully, I'm not a fan of death or blood n' guts in any form - even outrageously funny takes on it or art devoted to it as a theme. I've had too much experience recently with the real thing. Also, my older brother & several dates back in the day loved to get me really scared, or more accurately, traumatized, by black-and-white horror films. The former happened when I was all of 4 years old. Brother dear laughed maniacally at my fright and pretended to be the monster or mummy or whatever was on the screen. That one backfired though because the whole house was then treated to my recurring nightmares for a really long time. The dates enjoyed having an excuse to grab & squeeze me, ostensibly to comfort me when I jumped or gasped during the film. Trouble was, some of my dates we're considerably scarier than anything on the screen. (..like my very first official, and blind, date with a bonafied undertaker-in-training. Alas, he didn't tell me ahead of time and when told, there was NO way I was gonna hold HIS hand!!) I almost didn't marry Bob because he once pretended to be Bela Lugosi as we strolled in a moonlit cemetery. However it will sound conflicting to say I do enjoy Halloween. I spent much of my career as an art teacher showing students how to make scary masks, design and paint spooky Victorian haunted houses and form horrendous clay monsters. When our kids participated in trick-or-treat, we had the best times together as we spent months producing fairly elaborate hand-made, never store-bought, costumes. They usually went as a pair (like Snow White & one of the 7 dwarves or Dorothy and the scarecrow). While as you know I like some metal and I can appreciate this music up to a point, I'm sorry that I can't even come close to saying I enjoy it because of the above associations. So I guess my question for you Shady as I end this ramble is, "Just who will YOU be this Halloween?" (Time for the strapless sequined number as in previous mentions, perhaps?)
